At Arnett Hills, we believe that reading is the most important thing we teach.

This begins with the necessary decoding skills taught through our phonics policy and reading a diverse range of rich texts to pupils. Pupils are taught word skills alongside comprehension to develop as well rounded, confident readers. Teaching follows the pupils interests and develops the necessary skills progressively to build a secure understanding of complex texts.
