Welcome from Mrs Butcher, Headteacher

I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of Arnett Hills JMI School.

I fundamentally believe in our core values: Integrity, Community and Empathy. These are interwoven into daily life; everything we do and everything we teach our children. Our dedicated staff team are all fully committed to ensuring every child here receives a quality education and a school experience second to none. Our curriculum ensures that our children receive an education pertinent to children of Rickmansworth and the local area. It is based on quality literature, enriched by the arts and full of active learning experiences. It ensures children reach high standards across the curriculum, with attainment being significantly above national averages. Our attendance is in the top percentiles nationally – this is because children want to come to school; they want to be here, achieve well and enjoy their school life.

When Ofsted visited us in April 2025, we were thrilled that they saw us for what we are – a friendly, kind and welcoming school that strives for the very best for every child. “At Arnett Hills the sense of community is palpable. Pupils of all ages play happily together at breaktimes. Older pupils look out for younger ones. Pupils praise the ethos of kindness. They know how to be empathetic and respectful because they experience this consistently from staff.” “Expectations for achievement are high.” Pupils live and breathe the school’s values of integrity, community and empathy.” “Behaviour is excellent.” “The curriculum is ambitious.” “Reading is at the heart of the curriculum.” “The school provides strong pastoral support for pupils.”

If you would like to find out more then do contact us or pay us a visit. We look forward to welcoming you into our Arnett Hills community.
